About Us
Lanna SoftWorks Company, Ltd was formed in 2005 in Chiang Mai, Thailand as an alternative to existing offshore software development organizations.
As a 20 year veteran of software development in the US from Silicon Valley startups and large-scale system vendors to in-house I.T. organizations at Fortune 500 companies, founder David Turner believed |
that the reality of working with offshore development groups was often far less rewarding than the promise, but that it needn’t be, and that by bringing U.S. experience and expertise together with the creativity and energy of the Thai people that promise could be realized.
Chiang Mai seemed the perfect location to setup a new organization that would provide the top-quality software development experience and expertise that so many U.S. companies need but were simply not finding. Thailand’s emergence into the global I.T. marketplace is still in it’s early stages, so growth potential is high. And Chiang Mai, though 2nd in size in Thailand only to Bangkok, has a significantly lower cost of living and therefore operating costs while it’s cooler climate, smaller population and beautiful surroundings make it an ideal location to live and work.
